Presenter: Tom Egel, Application Engineer

Technical Computing with MATLAB and Simulink

Case Study: Complete Robot Arm Position Control System

Using a real-world case study that involves the development of a system to control a robot arm position, this seminar will discuss how to develop algorithms, generate reports, and create GUIs in MATLAB; model dynamic systems in Simulink; design feedback controllers to optimize system performance; and generate C code from the Simulink design to run on a microprocessor.  For those users with exclusive interests in MATLAB or Simulink, these sessions are designed to function independently.

Introduction to MATLAB

·         Data acquisition and analysis
·         Algorithm development and deployment
·         GUI development

Modeling and Simulation with Simulink

·         Introduction to Simulink
·         Modeling dynamic systems
·         Feedback control design
·         Implementing a controller using a microprocessor
·         Rapid prototyping using xPC Target
·         Verification and validation techniques
